Lauren Elizabeth, always passionate.

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos deserve defense in as much as they do not take money away from other people. In fact they (and others like Steve Jobs, Bill Grates etc.) contribute enormously to the standard of living of you and I because of their Inovations and savvy. Elon Musk has pioneered the desirability of electric cars which leads the way in addressing climate change. Jeff Bezos refined retailing and service that's nothing short of extraordinary (there's a reason most Americans buy from Amazon).

Could the two contribute more in addressing the disparity of opportunity? Yes, I'm sure they could. But they are not legislators and they neither make policy nor the tax laws.

By blaming these fortunate people for the poverty that exists in America is barking up the wrong tree.

A minimum wage increase is trying to do something helpful. But we can be far more ambitious (and effective) than that. The economic platform needs reinforcing across the board with many more people benefitting. Essentially a pretty generous basic income for ALL in America. And, of course that would include Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos (after all, let's not be spiteful).

Many thanks.
