Kristina, the populations of America and of NATO countries need to be prepared for a direct confrontation with Putin's Russia.

A retirement package could be made for Putin providing him security and keeping some of his loot. Stomach churning, but it would save lives and sideline the guy. Acceptance of this on all sides, of course, would be a challenge.
