Katharine, one of the big differences between the parties, is that the Republicans shut down politics beginning with Newt Gingrich and have meager interest in policy (McConnell, zero). This has made it especially difficult to govern the country (and our foreign affairs).

The Republicans have collapsed into MAGA and are incapable of administration. The Democrats are not entirely blameless as they foolishly withdrew from swathes of middle America.

Many thanks.
