Donald's legacy to America is the loss of history and the future because they are insignificant to him. Republicans are trapped in the here and now and so offering a direction, plan, or leadership is beyond them. Unfortunately, Democrats have adopted the condition to a degree.

Donald's world is a see-saw where the other side has to go down for him to go up. There is movement, but he and the apparatus as a whole go nowhere.
