Katharine,
It's hands down to Trump. Speaking is connecting with the audience. Trump does this effortlessly while Biden struggles. Biden is a plodding, lackluster showman, while Trump is an extraordinary showman.
Voters will pick the showman.
Biden is speaking at Morehouse College today, a captured audience at a graduation ceremony, otherwise he would have a couple of rows.
In "Biden Needs Help to Win 2024," I suggested that Buttigieg replace Harris and help with Biden's communication deficit. But I now have doubts if Pete's effort would be sufficient for Biden to successfully cross the finish line in November.
The BOLDER action of replacing Biden is likely the safest route for Democrats to retain the White House. It's not ideal, but we should have an open convention.
Ezra Klein had an excellent op-ed in this morning's NYT.
Best to you always.
