Walter Mondale, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris were all picks by the Party, and ALL LOST (except for Biden under the cover of a pandemic).

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama broke through this system and won -- each with two terms.
