Praise for Collins, Murkowski, and (not so surprisingly) McConnell for holding firm.

The Hegseth appointment coincides with much-needed reforms and modernization of the Defence Department. However, Hegseth has shown no understanding or interest beyond "warrior culture"—whatever that means. The Democratic questioning was weak and failed to focus on AI, drones, cyber warfare, etc.

The Senate confirmation of Hegseth is an unnecessary, careless disservice to American security.
