The middle income folk are not going to become serfs but can actually look forward to more leisure and pursuing what they want. This depends on invention, productivity etc. Closing the opportunity gap and mobility of income is vital to this equation. But it can be achieved.

A base income for all in America would be a turning point. Zuckerberg, Bezos, Gates, Buffet and Ma could all be participants and recipients.
