Jessica Wildfire, your article is a bit of a rant, full of distortion and without much understanding. That said, the subject of immigration is an important one.

People are offered positions in the U.S. to perform in particular industries where help is sorely needed. Many get a start on a different life that can fulfill their aspirations, as the nurse from the Philippines testified in her comment.

An American system more open to people arriving from other parts of the world would help everyone. Immigration is a driver of innovation, productivity, and prosperity for all Americans. If only more could appreciate that.

Unfortunately, the pressures resisting more immigration lead to more undocumented immigrants who can be more easily subject to abuse, extortion, and even death (a recorded 270 immigrant deaths crossing the border so far in 2022).

Your "Trafficked" employees are a bright spot in trying to correct a failed national policy.

Many thanks
