Janice, we would never move forward if we didn't take and reshape others' work. Most of our world is built on previous ideas, often fashioned together in brilliant new ways as knowledge and materials expand.

Though, we can be brave and confident about giving credit and acknowledging influences upon us. Frank Lloyd Wright built his Prarie Houses, which became Californian bungalows found worldwide. Still, he never conceded that he was ever influenced by Japanese architecture when his buildings were screaming Japanese architecture.

Artists and musicians have their communities and locations to influence and be influenced. The exchange is core to creativity.

Culture policing makes for an inorganic world, the opposite of what Beatrix Potter delighted us with.

Best.
