James, the base income would support education at every level and simultaneously allow market forces to work more efficiently. A Base Income supports people over institutions.

We spend a ton of money on social programs, which would be replaced by Basic Income over time. Social Security, Medicare, and farm subsidies could transfer.

Although the cost of Basic Income would be high, the returns in increased productivity would pay for it. Significantly, pressure against trade and immigration would diminish, making America more competitive and raising living standards for us and around the globe.

Apart from the change in our lives, the resistance is likely to be spite or the erroneous view that another is getting something for nothing.
