J.R. Flaherty, the downsides of the batteries can be tidied up. Like horses before motor vehicles. They pooped outside department stores. But we simply picked up the poop. We didn't shoot the horses and go back to walking.

Your carbon footprint is possibly lower in keeping your VW because of its little use. I kept my Range Rover from living in the country but now live in Miami. It's valuable but I use it very little and I'm horrified at its 11 miles per gallon around the city. I'm feel more guilty about the parking space it occupies.

Next vehicle will be electric though or maybe just Uber.
