Pete Buttigieg is the pick from the Democratic side. Great speaker, communicator (that Biden isn't.Smart and has American well being at core. Gay? so What. Didn't matter on the campaign trail last time. Short? even more credit to him.

That said Buttigieg would not move until Biden says he's not running in 2024 (or became glaringly obvious he was incompetent to do so) and Harris also steps aside (bless her). They are two big ifs because folks have a habit of hanging on way past their importance.
