That George 5th renegged on his invitation is very understandable but maybe a smarter guy could have arranged some place other than Britain for his cousins to go.

The guilt of the execution of the Zsar and family can’t be placed with George or Britain for that matter. It resulted from the point that Russia did not transcend to a democracy and consistutional democracy as in the UK.

You could argue that cousin Nicholas was grossly out of his depth and paid unfortunate consequences.
