This election should have been straightforward for Democrats. It was not primarily because Joe Biden demanded a second term contrary to the wishes of most Democrats. He then stayed in the race beyond the time of having a competitive race for the nomination.

Harris has become the presumptive nominee because of a skimpy democratic process. This problem can haunt us.

Hopefully, Harris can stop Trump from returning to the White House. Although elevated by voter relief of Biden finally exiting, Harris could easily return to being a poor candidate.

Buttigieg is the VP who could help her the most.
