I have a different take on it Eric Scholl.

Biden and the Democratic party benefit from being stable and to the norm in contrast to Trump who is off the wall and dangerous. To boycott confirmation hearings adds risk of appearing to have thown in the towel and could all too easily be portrayed as dereliction of duty. I agee that turning up at the proceedings armed with pots and pans would create a distractive (and possibly destructive) story with no upside. Better to do due diligence, maintain decorum and for the cameras show a picture of soundness, steadfastness and legitimacy. Focus on the nominee being well qualified for the court without sideshows.

As far as Trump's pandemic is concerned, voters minds are probably made up already and the statistics just need stating at every opportunity. Suggestions are -- The number of deaths are now almost half the deaths from World War 2, or Twice the number of deaths for each year of World War 2

I think getting Harris out on stage at this time would be a mistake and another distraction (a possible loose canon and she won't know what the hell she is doing anyway).

Above all it is a time for being very cool, calm and collected.

Many thanks Eric
