I agree, Hossein, this is a dangerous trend.

A few can be granted favors or exceptions by donating and holding tight with politicians. Unfortunately, the behavior would spread to others who were uninclined but fearful of being disadvantaged. This was apparent recently with tech executives clamoring for Trump's attention.

As you point out, competition becomes limited to a few, like an oligarchy, and sound business decisions are compromised. This, in turn, undermines trust in our political system.
