We have to deal with leaders and administrations we don't particularly like because it is in our interest. The real danger is when we don't. Isolation may be an intuitive response, but it's the worst and results in mutual mistrust and even paranoia -- Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, and, increasingly so, China.
