Hossein,

The Arab and Muslim countries have probably been taken by surprise -- even Iran. There has been condemnation of the unshackled revenge on Gaza but no apparent course of action. Not necessarily bad in a sea of overreaction. They are not a united group, and each of them has its concerns and vulnerabilities.

Worldwide, voices are hushed. China and Russia have been remarkably quiet, and what about the leaders of France, the UK, Germany, and other EU countries? Japan and Australia?

The EU disagrees over the major issue of Israel's continued pummeling of Gaza and looks to be coordinating around humanitarian assistance, knowing that the best humanitarian assistance is to stop the bombing and the ground incursion.

In America, thoughtful and helpful analyses and solutions have been proposed, which Biden and the Administration have learned from.

But the damage was done with Biden's initial statements of "unwavering support" for Israel. That was a blunder of enormous proportions.

Many thanks, and best to you.
