Hossein,

America is currently pretty much indifferent to the world, including, for the most part, the successful institutions it played an essential role in creating. It's no surprise that rulings from the ICJ are met with a shrug.

Tomorrow, we are allowing Netanyahu to address Congress for his domestic political purposes, seemingly oblivious to the ramifications for America internationally -- particularly, the Global South.

With the rise of China and medium-sized powers, America has retracted and lost its adventurous spirit of taking risks and pursuing opportunities.

How do we get this back? for our security and prosperity?

Iran has a new president, and American excitement is either hidden or non-existent. Personalities dictate events (Putin's war with Ukraine, Netanyahu's invasion of Gaza, Xi's break with the West, etc.). When personalities change, opportunities always arise.

Golly, I'm not sure what it takes for America to wake up.

Best to you always.
