The Israeli assassination strikes in Beirut and Tehran continue an escalation and spread of the war in which civilians continue to suffer the most.

Also, this may be part of Netanyahu's sinister act of disrupting the chances of a ceasefire in Gaza and exchange of hostages, and play of increasing American military involvement, particularly direct confrontation with Iran, which can obscure Netanyahu's personal agenda.

Unfortunately, Biden and America are playing chumps for Netanyahu and his atrocities. They still need to learn that he has zero credibility and that words alone from the U.S. have no impact.

As you say, the Gordian knot becomes harder and harder to undo.
