Hossein,
While the International Court of Justice navigates a significant role, America's action is now demanded.
Since your writing, the tragedy has widened, worsened, and become far more dangerous.
The close presidential election has created the opportunity for Netanyahu to do his worst, not only in Gaza but in Lebanon. Netanyahu is assured that while the U.S. Administration will offer critical words, Biden will not act to curb Netanyahu's damaging and dangerous undertakings.
Netanyahu is hoping that Israeli attacks on Hisbollah will cause it to retreat (which may occur in the short term, although doubful in the longer). And should Netanyahu overreach and Israel find itself in trouble, America will rescue Israel -- even possibly involving (heaven forbid) a direct U.S. attack on Iran -- to the delight of Netanyahu and some back in America.
The dangerous scenario can be avoided by Biden declaring that the destruction of Lebanon is not what America signed up for and arguing that it's not in Israeli interests any more than the tragedy in Gaza. And America will not supply arms or funding for this purpose.
Biden could take this action since he no longer needs to worry about his election chances.
A clever and bold Harris could adopt a more neutral stance, detaching herself from Biden, which would help her win the election.
Best to you, always
