This was a gigantic mistake by Biden. It was NOT a time for Israel's foreign policy to be driven by popular sentiment (however traumatized), the IDF with egg on its face, and Netanyahu keeping his job.

Biden needed to state that the proposed retaliation of Israel would be injurious to their security and prosperity and that America would NOT support it.
