The temptation to blow up gas pipe lines is just beneath the surface — but, perhaps it should be resisted. One simple reason is the Republicans would be overjoyed -- to put it mildly. Look what they made out of BLM.

An article in today’s NYT "China Opens a National Carbon Market" that I believe to be significant progress because it sets in place a real incentives (and competition) for Chinese companies to reduce their polluting. Although the big ones of steel and cement are yet in the program it applies to the coal and gas -- as they contribute to 10% of the world's pollution.

It's important that both Europe, the U. S and China get on the same page and avoid tariff nonsense because generally that works counter to getting climate under control.
