Great article John.

I'm perhaps a little bit more optimistic that things can change for the better. And, we have had a history such.

We could make a real dent in poverty if it could be framed in terms of ALL benefitting instead of "taking from me and giving to them" or "taking from those undeserving rich folk and giving to them"

We still have the idea that the pie is a fixed amount. That for homelessness to be fixed we must pull money from defense or have the rich pay more tax. It doesn't work like that. And, it's an absolute non started if sold in those terms.

Productivity and prosperity are key because they are settings for changes to actually happen. Johnson fortunately had this setting. Although he did not conquer poverty, he achieved plenty. We in the U.S. have slipped in competitiveness with the world and this desperately needs improving. Without this, Americans will be in no mood to change anything.

Many thanks.
