You are right that the scene is going to be messy should the Democrats not win overwhelingly -- and unfortunately that kind of win is unlikely to happen.

So what do you do with all the "Trumpers" especially beyond the election? You can't dismiss them like one of your readers with a "cherry on top" -- satisfying, but doesn't get us anywhere. It's going to be a real building process for the two halves of the country to simply talk to each other again. A start would be listening to the other side and discover their real wants. Wants that may not be possible or in anyone's interest (including their own), but I am a believer that solutions abound, even in this ugly situation.
