Good article as always Alexander.

Donald Trump as odious as he is is not really the problem. Nor all the Republicans off in the tall grass (actually I blame these passive members the most as inaction is action and is equally accountable). I did write "Donald's Ship Needs Sinking" that's still relavant.

The challenge is to overcome a huge divide that certainly began with the disparity of income and over time (even before Donald) has moved into almost every facet of our lives. Reasonableness has given way to destruction. We have a nation of increased spitefulness towards achievement, knowledge (even when it helps us) and what has given us our well being in the past.

I see the solution at maybe attending to the local and trying to build up from there. Government can help by supplying money and resisting top down solutions.

Many thanks
