There are opportunities for a candidate to rationally pave the way through climate change and make it exciting for voters. It can vehicle America into the future -- and rear-vision Donald Trump.

But this requires imagination, cleverness, and excellent leadership -- all currently in short supply.

Climate is not alone in being "stuck in the past." The politics of American well-being, the economy, productivity, trade, immigration, etc., have aspects appealing to voters if presented well.
