Gary, the country is NOT torn apart by politics but rather the lack of them. It goes back to Newt Gingrich and his obstructionism which shut down politicking.

Republicans have had no interest in policy for years -- the central perpetrator being Mitch McConnell.

Without politics, we have an increased likelihood of war.
