Full marks Matthew Dolezal for your Bernie enthusiasm. I agree that Biden is a flawed candidate. Too old for one thing, but then so is Bernie — it’s as if voters cannot do arithmetic.

I would argue that Bernie is not on the right side of history for his attitude to NAFTA — do you enjoy tapping on your inexpensive laptop? or maybe you drive a car with parts south of the border? Avocados? The NAFTA agreement benefitted the majority of Americans enormously with less expensive and better quality merchandise. It also served the same in Mexico and expanded their middle class. Immigration issues were mitigated for those who thought that important. Unfortunately, there would be no trade agreement Bernie would like apart from ones so adulterated that they would serve no purpose. He was vehemently against Obama’s TPP and caused Hilary Clinton to back away from it. That was a big missed opportunity to have a coalition of countries as a counter to China (Trump dropped the idea too because he saw no value apart from thumbing Obama and along with Bernie doesn’t care for trade agreements either).

Trade agreement do more than their name sake. They build security and rapport between nations to address common international concerns. Sanders would not want this involvement.
