Joe Biden should be running on getting $20,000 back in Americans' pockets by allowing tariff-free Chinese EVs to replace their aging IC autos. Similarly, solar panels, replacement city bus fleets, EVs for government purposes, and EV vans for the USPS from the best sources (including China) were no-brainers.

However, Biden failed to set the direction for enhanced American living standards and fast forward on climate.

In the NYT recently, I noticed an increase in pushback to tariffs on Chinese EVs; the comments sections are often revealing.
