Excellent piece, Samuel,

Trump is a masterful confidence man. The act makes him LIKABLE, although the guy is hideous.

This is an enormous advantage over a decent guy, Biden, who is not particularly LIKABLE. Biden is having such a difficult time winning against Trump for this reason. Biden's age is a handle for his unlikability, whereas Trump can fluff and guff with no apparent downside.

Donald Trump continually throws out lines, fishing for responses. He repeats and embellishes the lines when he feels nibbles and "Bingo" bites. What folk want to believe works the best -- the Yeah! Factor.

As you write, repetition itself sways opinion. Voters make their choices on who others around them like and identify with. The facts are irrelevant, and a candidate pushing them (without a real connection to voters) is wasting time.

All Democrats wanted to avoid the Biden dangerous ordeal is a young, likable candidate. But I'm repeating myself.

Best to you.

I invite you to read "Setbacks on Ukraine Must Not Be Made into Defeat."
