Excellent piece JG Estiot.

The West (and democracy) has slipped into a complacency (of comfort as Kasparov says) which also includes a mixture of fear and kind of wishful thinking. There is also immediate and self interests that have taken hold.

Ukraine and its tragic losses but also enormous wins is a blessing to the West. An opportunity for us to regain our substance. And, as your subject points out, that we should be fighting with all our might to win this war for Ukraine and all of us.

If that means that the full forces of NATO have to be engaged. Then we should do that.

Many thanks.
