Eastern EU countries, including Hungary and Poland, have become more politically conservative. One reason is the migration of youth and talent westwards.

Unfortunately, Turkey was not brought into the EU because that would have provided Hungary with youth and talent from the east -- although, much to the chagrin of Orban and company.
