Poland's rapid transition to a market-driven economy must have been exciting and traumatic. Many were ill-equipped and provided the political pressure to return to the old ways.

Maintaining aspiration is essential through these economic transitions. Without it, shit happens -- like Trump and Brexit.

The migration of talent to greener parts of Europe left an older and more conservative Polish population to determine leadership.

Poland would primarily benefit from its neighbor, Ukraine, in the EU -- yes?
