It's an attempt of a minority takeover of America. There has been a religious decline in America but it has rallied as a defensive force for conservatives.

Republicans are currently headless. They have no ideas beyond obstruction.

This is unfortunate because they are well positioned to move many issues and make a more prosperous and powerful America. Big issues such as transforming to a green economy and even introducing a basic income for all in America. They could even champion immigration. These are more difficult for Democrats to bring about. Tony Blair with his NEW Labor was able to achieve what the Tory government couldn't under Thatcher or Major.

They would have to rename the party to at least NEW Republican though.
