The U.S. has long been without a proper strategy for Africa. These latest efforts deserve praise as long as they are long-term goals and have the funding to support them.

A more internationalist sentiment in America would assist this effort. Increased exchanges of goods, students, immigrants, etc., must be part of the new transcontinental relationship.
