It's in our interests to have people feel more economically secure. Not only does this lead to a more educated, competitive, and productive population, but it reduces the risks of Donald Trumps, Brexits, and possibly Putin from happening.

Although Americans fare pretty well (better than beliefs), the growing income disparity is worrying and needs correcting. Arguments for a base income become more convincing. Its appeal is that it's universal and paid to Lamborghini and Ford owners alike.
