Eric, the trade with China, and before that, Japan, provided Americans with increased living standards unsurpassed by most of the rich world.

Some Americans in old industries were hurt by transitioning to the tech, information, and service economy. But the blame is on us not providing a platform to transition and not the trade and immigration that most benefitted from enormously.
