Egberto Willies. Companies don't set the prices for their goods. They are set by markets. Granted, when a market is captured, businesses have more control over pricing (the classic one being cable companies where virtual monopolies exit). But say, when I am buying a house, car or gas, it's an open market.

Many people believe landlords set rents. They don't. They are set by demand and supply and that is why we have the price differences.
