Dylan, there needs to be a Palestinian state. But Netanyahu has been working to stop this throughout his 18 years as Prime Minister and leader of the Likud Party. Hamas leaders also wouldn't want a normal Palestinian country because that would undermine their existence.

Opportunities for a safer and more prosperous Israel and the Middle East opened with the horrendous attack on Israeli civilians. However, the windows will close on these quickly if not recognized and seized.

It's insanely counter-productive for Israel to continue pummeling and sending a ground invasion into Gaze. They are NOT going to destroy Hamas but will ruin the recent efforts to normalize relationships with their neighbors.

The initial words from Joe Biden and his hug of Netanyahu descending Air Force One delivered America unconditionally into Israel's camp. This was a huge mistake. And dear old Joe could meet his demise because of it and much to the delight of Netanyahu.

If Biden was clever, he could use this opportunity to bow out of the 2024 race to focus on the Israeli/Middle East solution. He would be unencumbered by compromises made due to the election -- which he has already done.
