David Todd McCarty, there are advantages for Biden to announce he is not seeking a second term today. He could retire because of age and few would hold that against him.

But, beyond that, he announcing moving aside would get the party a little more excited about the mid-terms knowing that fresh talent can surface for the presidency.

I can't thing of anything more depressing than the same two guys out there again.
