Dave, I praise you for your number of comments (and I recall a few on my articles). We on MEDIUM are our own audience and I'm pretty certain we don't make enough of that enormous benefit to us all. And, after all the whole idea of writing (at least to me) is what it generates in thought and comments once published.

It began as a twenty minute exercise each morning read of the New York Times to comment on a particular article or opinion. I am impressed not just by the number (sometimes thousands) of such comments but also by the quality and thoughtfulness of most of them. A reader of the NYT would miss the reward of wonderfully writers should they skip over these.

Aside. I decided to write what amounts to a weekly column (now plus cartoon) purely on my jottings to the newspaper. I call it TAKE on OPINION which I also send to readers outside MEDIUM.

We all don't read enough -- including me.
