Dash MacIntyre, the West has to be careful here. While a defeated Putin is what we want, a defeated Russia is not. Through this ordeal, we could have made more effort to differentiate Putin from Russians (as you do in generals from conscripts). I believe it was a mistake to have vilified the oligarchs because this drove them back to the protection of Putin.
