Honestly, what's the problem? The guy likes New Zealand, obviously, and he is bringing himself (a pretty talented guy) into the country and will spend money and chances are will be productive. What more can you ask for? that he may have been given a few courtesies beyond the ordinary Kiwi -- so what? What does he take from you?

Anyway, I hope that you have taken time to look at this a little differently. Spite is a very ugly trait -- not becoming of a New Zealander at all.
