America remains a powerhouse of innovation and investment, although restrictive trade and immigration policies and practices increasingly temper its strength. Hopefully, U.S. businesses will maintain a buoyant economy to compete with China. America has a massive advantage over Xi Jinping's central decision-making, where mistakes can be catastrophic.

The European economy is stagnant because the EU functions insufficiently as a union. Too many barriers to money and goods between nations inhibit investment. Unfortunately, the remedy is the opposite of the public sentiment toward nationalism. Brexit hurt the EU and not only the UK.
