What is the thinking?

"Let's go find distractions that sap our energy from doing what we can," or if we are tennis enthusiasts,

"Let's turn away from the ball and play the shot between our legs."

Democrats could benefit from some new leadership. The talent is there but is not being brought forward to strengthen the party. Less like-minded thinking and more opposing views would produce better decisions.

The inflation disaster possibly results from deference to the majority of like minds and NOT listening to the minority with opposing but astute diagnoses.

We need more Gwen Iffills to say, "hold on, let's look at the issue from the other side."
