Caren, we need to see how the possibilities behave on the campaign trail. There can be surprises as last time Harris (and arguably) Biden bombed. Personally, I thought Castro would have performed better while Yang went way further than my expectations.

We need to think beyond stardom and popularity although essential. Extraordinary presidential talant is required to manage the challenges, recognize and seize the opportunities We don’t have that in Biden and had less than competence with Trump. Understanding the world is crucial. Obama, Clinton and HW Bush, Reagan, Nixon and Kennedy were good while we had costly failures with Trump, George W, Carter and Johnson.

Biden should declare that he is not seeking another term. This would create the field for us to make progress.
