Caren, we can appreciate Yang trying to change the status quo. He may fail to establish a new party in this way, but something valuable can come from his efforts.

Yang championed the basic income notion (which over history had been suggested) and managed to get it taken seriously, which was an enormous accomplishment.

I agree that collecting members around a single issue or very clearly defined philosophy is easier and more understanding. Better possibly for Yang to build his party around base income.
