Caren, I've had a year of thoroughly enjoying your column. Seriousness and fun can dance alongside. They've got to, otherwise we put in danger our perspective and perhaps humanity.

You always reply. And I can't help thinking that more writing on MEDIUM (and wherever) would be given strength by this important consideration. It's a discussion, an argument, even a fight after all.

I kind of agree with David Brooks (Brooks & Capehart, PBS 12/31) that we got off lightly in 2021 on the international front and this will loom much larger in 2022.

We shall see.
